Cut Fuel Consumption In Half With New Features On The 7822DT V3

Turning augers with the throttle full tilt and then idling down when fine tuning tool strings may be automatically programmed into some driller’s minds. But the NEW auto throttle feature on the recently released 7822DT V3 just made it automatic for all. When in the “on” position, the auto throttle automatically senses the load and adjusts the throttle accordingly.

Much more than a simple convenience, this feature also results in significant fuel savings. Seasoned drillers are noticing the difference, claiming the auto throttle and on-demand hydraulic system on their V3 burns half as much fuel as their V2 7822DT.

And with the load sense hydraulics, the rig only supplies the system pressure required to perform requested tasks. This reduces the heating of the hydraulic fluid, which is especially helpful when operating in elevated ambient temperatures and performing high-duty operations such as coring, augering, or tracking long distances.

Operations managers are mentioning how they can track longer without overheating the hydraulics, which is really important when working on pipeline projects in 90-degree weather.

So while the 7822DT V3 still provides the power and versatility you’ve come to appreciate, it does so with reduced operation costs – which will make you appreciate it even more.
