Geoprobe® 150GT
Specifically designed for customers focused on traditional geotechnical drilling applications utilizing: hollow stem auger, solid stem auger, SPT, mud rotary, air rotary, and high speed coring…Geoprobe® has released the all new Geoprobe® Model 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig.
As we spent time with clients focused on rotary geotechnical projects, it became clear that some clients preferred 5 ft. tooling systems while others demanded speed; speed that could only be achieved by operating 10 ft. tooling. There was really no single drillmast configuration that could offer our customers a real solution for every application. For those customers that utilize 10 ft. tooling systems consistently, we are now able to offer a solution that we believe provides the drilling industry unique features that in the end will help Geoprobe® customers succeed.

CB5 4-Speed Head on the 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig
The CB5 4-speed head on the 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig features:
- 6000 ft-lb torque; 600 rpm (torque to spin augers, speed to high speed core)
- Full torque in forward and reverse; On-the-fly shift between 1 and 2, 3 and 4
- Floating top swivel with 1-5/8-in. thru bore and 2.5-in. of float and 2-3/8-in. API Internal Flush thread
- 6.25-in. external drive for HSA
- Rod grip puller (1.5-in. to 5-in. rod)
- Head side-shift (22-in.)

Geoprobe® 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig Drill Mast
The drill mast on the 150GT Geotech Drill Rig features:
- 144-in. of head feed travel & 45-in. of drill mast dump (this easily gives you the range you need to work ground level, above a pan, or drill at an angle)
- Head travel speeds up to 140 fpm
- Rollers instead of slides
- Easily adjust to hole misalignment with extend and swing

DH107 Automatic Drop Hammer on the 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig
The DH107 automatic drop hammer on the 150GT is designed to make your job efficient.
- Allows operator to swing in drop hammer while head is still attached to the tool string
- Integral safety features to protect the operator from improper deployment
- 73-in. of float to easily accommodate different sample intervals.

The telescoping winch mast on the Geoprobe® 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig
The telescoping winch mast reduces the overall height of the rig, but still allows the tripping out of 20-ft. lengths of rod when combined with the 3-ft. extension.

Control Panel on the 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig
The manual controls on the 150GT provide the tactile feel that some drillers prefer, while the electric control adds safe hands-free operation.

7-in. Breakout on the 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig
The 150GT features a swing out 7-in. breakout.

Geoprobe® 150GT Geotechnical Drill Rig doesn't require a class A/B CDL.
The easy to drive, automatic transmission truck does not require a CDL (Class A/B). This lowers upfront costs and allows for lower maintenance costs.

The interlocking design self aligns during assembly and is quick to disassemble
Our patented interlocking split spoon sampler is a unique geotechnical innovation from Geoprobe® that is engineered to greatly benefit your field team. It is built to be 2X stronger, last longer, and saves both money and field time over a conventional split spoon. Additionally, it meets ASTM Standard D1586.
The interlocking design provides axial alignment of the tube halves, making for a quicker assembly of the sampler. Each time it goes together it self aligns, creating a perfect fit. With the threads aligned, the cutting shoe and drive head can be threaded to the split spoon. The threads are a multi-lead, which requires fewer turns during assembly and disassembly over conventional split spoons. Less time is spent during assembly and disassembly, which speeds up each test interval.
In additional to time savings, the interlocking split sheath has two times the strength and durability of conventional split spoons. Enhanced material properties and manufacturing result in greater longevity. Design plays an important role as well. Each interlocking point keeps the two tube halves engaged throughout the sampling process. The strength of these connections prevents the sampler from bulging in dense materials. It also keeps the tube halves tightly engaged even when over-filling of the sampler occurs.
