Within the city, there is a range of housing availability and options with surrounding communities close by. Salina is one of the more affordable places to live in the state with a cost of living 10% lower than Kansas City, KS and 15% lower than Kansas City, MO.

  • Live music and handmade art featured at the annual Smoky Hill River Festival
    • Since 1977, the Smoky Hill River Festival has been bringing people together from Salina and surrounding communities. With three stages, over 155 artists and 150 performances, and over 30 food vendors, the festival welcomes both locals and guests from far away to celebrate the arts together.
  • National touring artists and the local Salina Symphony perform at the historic Stiefel Theater all year round
  • Catch a musical, audition for an upcoming play, or take a class at Theatre Salina
  • Take in the public art all over the historic commercial district of Downtown Salina, including the walking Sculpture Tour
  • Catch a show at the Salina Art Center Cinema or sign up for an art class at the Art Center Warehouse
  • See unique automobiles at The Garage Automotive Museum
  • Learn about our rich history at the Smoky Hill Museum
