Scott and Son Well Drilling started in 1956, when Brandon Scott's grandfather and uncle launched the company in central Missouri. His father later bought them out, and today Brandon is the third generation running the family business, serving the Lake of the Ozarks region for nearly seven decades.

The focus remains on residential and light commercial water well drilling and pump system repairs. The equipment has changed — the operation currently runs a Schramm T450 and is acquiring a Schramm 685. But keeping those rigs running requires more than skilled hands. It requires the right support.

Finding a Schramm Parts Partner

The connection to the East Coast Service Center (ECSC) in Pennsylvania started with a recommendation from another Schramm mechanic. A few parts orders later, a relationship had formed.

When it came time for a top head rebuild, the ECSC handled everything: a complete teardown with every nut and bolt replaced, two-week turnaround including shipping.

"We didn't have to do anything but set it on and off the truck,” Scott said. “They did a pretty quick turnaround."

Schramm Parts on the Shelf, Answers on the Phone

Today, nearly every part for their Schramm rigs — cylinders, motors, pumps, seals, packings, valves — comes from the ECSC. Most ship same-day.

But it's the personal service that stands out. A quick text to Chris Bruce, ECSC parts solution specialist, is often all it takes.

"He knows the machines so well he doesn't need a part number,” Scott said. “I just text him and he gets it on a truck to me."

Dave Harrison, ECSC service lead, and Bruce have also walked the team through repairs over the phone. A jib boom swing issue seemed to need parts, until Harrison identified it as a simple valve adjustment.

"He helped me determine I didn't need parts,” Scott said. “I just needed to make adjustments and was able to get everything working normal again."

Since the ECSC team joined Geoprobe®, the support has only improved according to Scott — better coordination, quicker responses, easier access to help.

The Confidence to Invest

When considering the Schramm 685, Scott evaluated more than the machine. He evaluated the support behind it.

"Having them for support for this machine was a big part of my decision,” he said. “Without them, I would have looked at a different brand."

The math is simple: if the trucks aren't running, there's no revenue.

"Their support means all the success in the world,” Scott said. “They help me keep my trucks running and minimize downtime."

For a business that's been in the family since 1956, that's what keeps the legacy alive.
