The DRILLMAX® DM250 is powerful and efficient water well rig with a compact transport size. It is a good fit for residential work where limited access is a priority.

An industry unique feature of the DM250 is the safe and simple single rod loader system. The helper can safely and easily load 20 foot drill pipe into the rod loader using helper side controls. These controls include jib swing, jib extend, and winch functions. The main control panel also includes these controls and the option to turn the helper side controls off if necessary.

With the rod loader, the helper can efficiently prepare the drill pipe for the driller. To begin, a hoist plug is screwed into the drill pipe that is set in the pipe rack. Using the winch lever, the rod is raised out of the pipe rack. Next, the jib function is used to retract the drill pipe in line with the top gate of the rod loader. The winch is then used to lower the drill pipe into the pod.

With the pipe securely in the pod, the rod can be turned by hand to unthread it from the hoist plug at the top. The jib extend can then be used to move the hoist plug and winch into position for the next rod. Once the driller is ready, the rod loader is swung into place under the top head with the rod. After the pipe is threaded onto the head, the rod loader swings back into the loading position.

These steps are repeated for adding another rod. With the efficient rod loader system, the helper is able to always have the next rod ready for the driller. This is one of the many ways the DM250 is built for success.
