During daily interactions with drillers from around the world, our engineers and sales team are attentive to the features or performance characteristics drillers desire in their next Geoprobe® rig. Some work in difficult subsurface formations requiring more rotational speed and rotary power while maintaining a compact carrier.
We listened and debuted the C24 concept rig during Open House April 25. Engineered with the geotechnical driller in mind, who find its compact size, features, and power also suited to environmental, exploration, and construction projects. Think of it as all you've come to appreciate in a Geoprobe® 31 series geotechnical drill rig — like centerline head side shift — but more.
Rob Scharringhausen, partner and geotechnical driller at Bulldog Drilling in Illinois, stepped up to the rig controls after Open House.
"It has the right amount of torque to turn augers at a decent speed for production drilling," he said. "With slide head, everything after drilling augers should be quicker, and from what I've seen, augering will be as fast as a conventional rig."
Through summer 2024, Geoprobe® engineers are finalizing research and development, testing performance and safety. Call to arrange a hands-on visit to run the C24 yourself and speak directly with engineers.
