C24 Concept Rig: Proven Features Plus More

C24 Concept Rig supplies the geotechnical driller with favorite rig features like centerline head side shift plus additional power.

C24 Concept Rig supplies the geotechnical driller with favorite rig features like centerline head side shift plus additional power.

During daily interactions with drillers from around the world, our engineers and sales team are attentive to the features or performance characteristics drillers desire in their next Geoprobe® rig. Some work in difficult subsurface formations requiring more rotational speed and rotary power while maintaining a compact carrier.

We listened and debuted the C24 concept rig during Open House April 25. Engineered with the geotechnical driller in mind, who find its compact size, features, and power also suited to environmental, exploration, and construction projects. Think of it as all you've come to appreciate in a Geoprobe® 31 series geotechnical drill rig — like centerline head side shift — but more.

  • MORE rotary power: 10,000 ft lbs of torque
  • MORE rotational speed: 1,000 RPM

Geotechnical Driller Responds

Rob Scharringhausen, partner and geotechnical driller at Bulldog Drilling in Illinois, stepped up to the rig controls after Open House.

"It has the right amount of torque to turn augers at a decent speed for production drilling," he said. "With slide head, everything after drilling augers should be quicker, and from what I've seen, augering will be as fast as a conventional rig."

Through summer 2024, Geoprobe® engineers are finalizing research and development, testing performance and safety. Call to arrange a hands-on visit to run the C24 yourself and speak directly with engineers.

NEW C24 CONCEPT RIG

  • Harness power of 134HP Cat C3.6 engine for
  • 10,000 ft lbs of torque and 1,000 RPM
  • Compact track footprint with rear blade capable of carrying 3,000-lb load
  • Simple intuitive controls satisfy veteran drillers and simplify training the new geotechnical driller

EFFECTIVELY COMPETE IN MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS

CENTERLINE HEAD SIDE SHIFT TRIMS TIME BETWEEN APPLICATIONS NOW WITH ADDITIONAL ROTARY POWER

FASTER:

134HP Cat C3.6 engine powers:

  • GR10.1 6-speed rotary head (10,000 ft-lb torque rotary power, 1,000 RPM rotational speed)
  • GH64 percussion hammer (36,000 lb push, 48,000 lb pull)
  • Dual hydraulic circuits (eliminates battle between drilling functions and fluid circulation for hydraulic flow and pressure)

EASIER:

Mobilize a single rig, without manipulating mast or machine position to complete:

  • Augering
  • Mud rotary
  • SPT
  • Shelby tubes
  • Hard rock cores
  • CPT
  • Direct push

SAFER:

Reduce operator strain and keep the geotechnical driller out of danger zone using:

  • Hands-free automatic drop hammer
  • Hands-free rotation and head feed
