Fire and Ice Don’t Mix!

At least that’s what Jed Davis, Geoprobe® Project Engineer found out during a recent Kansas ice/snow storm. Jed was heading in to work driving a 1994 Pontiac Firebird he had just purchased for his fiancé, Jessica, for her birthday/Christmas presents. (It’s a good thing she said “yes” before the car went in the water!) The car slid on the ice and into the ditch on the opposite side of the road, luckily not flipping over on the way. Because of the steep embankment, Jed had to crawl out through the side window. A crane pulled the frozen and soaked car out of the ravine a few days later shutting down the highway for about 30 minutes. Jed’s looking for a new gift for Jessica these days. The sporty little Firebird is at home with an auto parts dealer who will be selling it off for parts. We’re thankful Jed was able to walk away from this mishap with only a pair of wet feet!
